Coss

Hailing from Magdeburg, Germany, Conrad Schultze’s musical path began at the age of 12 as a guitar player in an indie-rock group known as Down To April. His varied influences include Tunisia’s Anouar Brahem, Estonia’s Arvo Pärt, Fleetwood Mac, J Dilla and Marvin Gaye. In recent years, this upstart producer turned his attention to electronic music so firmly entrenched in Berlin’s cultural fabric. He has carved out an expanding niche with several live gigs including an acclaimed set at Chez Jacki, formerly known as Maria am Ostbahnhof. Coss meandered across More or Less’ radar net and his debut release Nightbells is due out September 2011.
His production style belies his youthful age, as his works artfully layer classical instruments with sweeping synths.
